GENERAL INFORMATION

Welcome to the 1st annual Fiber Festival of Western New York. We are holding our event at the beautiful historic Empire City Farms in Cuba, NY on July 14 and 15 2007. This weekend is a busy one in Cuba, as it is reunion weekend, so we are anticipating the potential for significant public attendance. There is also a certified alpaca show being conducted with several participating farms at the same location during festival hours, so fleece and what can be done with it should be a crowd pleaser for those folks also.

We are looking forward to a fun-filled and educational weekend. Our mission is to orient people to the wonderful world of fiber, with our main focus alpaca but not exclusive to, and the artistry and workmanship that goes into it. We are hoping for a successful event that includes all fiber art forms.

We have free booth space available for those who wish to participate on an educational level by filling out our educational proposal form.

We also have vendor space available for those who wish to just market their products. The vendor space is a ($75.00 includes both days. Feel free to demonstrate as well from your booth. Vendor information is available under vendor link. We request that all products sold by vendors be hand made in the US please.

Any fiber enthusiasts who wish to participate by just demonstrating your fiber art, you are welcome to set up a space and just show off your skills. No fee will be charged, but you may not sell from your space.

We will have demonstrations , displays, fiber store, fun competitions, educational workshops, commercial fiber processing set up, media shows, and much more.

We will also be hosting a fiber male alpaca auction on Sunday July 15 ,2007 @ 1:00pm. Look for more details coming soon.

All set up will take place on Friday, July 13, 2007 from 12-6pm. Please contact Ellen Wentworth if you will require special set up conditions. All vendors may bring their products to be set up on Saturday, but we will be physically doing booth space on Friday so special requests need to be in by July 1, 2007. Also, vendors will need to be set up by 9:00 am on Saturday July 14, 2007.

Take down will be on Sunday, July 15, 2007, no earlier than 5:00PM.
